Bella HristovaWinner, Michael Hill Violin Competition 2007
"Playing my Winner’s Tour of New Zealand has without a question been the best part of winning the First Prize for me. The kind of artistic development that is gained by performing night after night is quite valuable but can’t be taught. Also, most violinists who are just starting their careers don’t have an opportunity to play a tour like this.
Offering a tour of this capacity is just one of the many assets that add to the appeal of the Michael Hill International Violin Competition.
If I could, I would apply to the competition in 2009 with the hopes of winning again, so that I get to do the tour all over. In addition to the great performing experiences, the drives around the country gave me an opportunity to see a fairly large part of New Zealand, which was a very enjoyable adventure in itself.
I’d like to say a big 'Thank You' to all the generous individuals, presenters and sponsors who made this tour possible!"
